Carried by the Body

“Carried by the Body”

Hi Church Family,

Last Tuesday I had a triple fusion on my ankle. The first couple of days were pretty rough, and I’ll admit—I wondered if I had made the right decision. But by Sunday, I began to feel hope, and today I’m convinced I did.

I’ll be non-weight bearing for six weeks, followed by another six weeks of gradually putting weight on it. The good news is, I’m improving a little more each day.

Thank you so much for the cards, calls, and especially your prayers. They’ve meant more to me than I can say. I miss each of you. I’m hoping to be in church this Sunday, and I plan to be fully back by the first Sunday in May.

I also want to thank our leadership team. So many of you have stepped up in my absence, and I’m deeply grateful. There are too many to name, but please know—it hasn’t gone unnoticed. If a healthy church is one that can function well without its pastor, then MCC is a very healthy church.

Scripture says, “If one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it” (1 Corinthians 12:26). I’ve experienced that firsthand during this season.

We don’t just say we’re the body of Christ—we truly are. When one part is hurting, the rest steps in with strength, love, and faith.

I love you all and look forward to being back together soon.
