One thing I constantly say about baptism is this:
Baptism is the ultimate profession of faith.
It’s the believer publicly declaring:
“His death is my death.
His resurrection is my resurrection.
My life is His.”
Baptism is an outward expression of an inward transformation. It’s a way of boldly identifying with Jesus Christ and declaring, “I’m not ashamed to follow Him.”
Even Jesus was baptized.
Baptism doesn’t save us—Jesus does. But baptism is a command Jesus gave to His followers and a beautiful picture of the new life we have in Him.
“We were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
– Romans 6:4
When a believer goes down into the water, it symbolizes dying to the old life. When they come up, it symbolizes new life in Jesus Christ.
Maybe you’ve never been baptized after placing your faith in Christ.
Or maybe the Lord has been doing something fresh in your life. Maybe this is a season of renewal, repentance, or rededication.
Maybe you feel far from God right now.
I often say, “You might be a million steps away from God, but it’s only one step back.”
Maybe for you, baptism is that step.
A step of faith.
A step of surrender.
A step of coming home.
On Sunday, May 24, we’ll celebrate lives being changed by Jesus through baptism at Medina Community Church, and I would love for you to take that step of faith.
You don’t need a perfect past—just a willing heart.
If you’re interested in being baptized, contact the church office or message us through our website or Facebook page.
And remember:
“There’s always room for one more.”
