A Father Who Hears
How do you keep praying when the answer doesn’t come?

That was the question we explored this past Sunday as we continued our study through the Gospel of Luke. In Luke 11:5–13, Jesus reminds us that prayer is not about overcoming God’s reluctance—it is about trusting His goodness.

We looked at three simple truths:

• The Father welcomes our requests.
• The Father invites our persistence.
• The Father gives what is good.

As a father, it would break my heart if one of my children faced a crisis and felt like they couldn’t come to me. If one of my children wrecked the family car, I’d much rather get that phone call than have them sit on the side of the road, afraid to call for help. Jesus teaches that our heavenly Father welcomes His children in the very same way. He never grows weary of hearing our prayers.

I closed the message with the picture of a tapestry. From underneath, all you see are tangled threads, knots, and loose ends. It looks like a mess. But from above, the Master Weaver sees a beautiful design. We often see only the underside of our lives while God sees the finished masterpiece.

If you’ve been praying for something that seems unanswered, I hope this message encourages you to keep asking, keep seeking, and keep knocking. You have a Father who hears. He sees the finished masterpiece, even when all we can see are tangled threads.
